Help on Autometer Tach
Just got an AutoMeter Tach, Cobalt Series, and I called them to find out how many pulses per revolution the 350Z has, and he told me it does 3 pulses per revolution, HOWEVER, in order to install the tach I would need to buy a Tach Adapter, part number 9117.
Has anyone on this site installed an AutoMeter tach on their car before and had to go through the process of installing a tach adapter?
Is their a way to get around installing a tach adapter?
any help would be appreciated

I know on my Cavalier when I installed one I had to send it to them to get it calibrated to work with my distributorless ignition. It didn't cost anything. That was over 5 years ago. I wonder if they don't do that anymore and now only sell adapters.
Yeah, the 350 has a distributorless ignition as well, that is exactly why I need the adapter he told me. There is a way to get around it though? You just need to send your car to them to have it calibrated?
I'm gonna try and call AutoMeter and see if they can give me tech support on the phone and explain this to me more.

I hooked it up just to make sure I had to get it calibrated and it wouldn't go over 2000 RPM. So I boxed up the tach and sent it to them and when it came back it worked great.
