Some of the lightening mods double as HP mods as well Also keep in mind that I had to add weight with the roll bar and 14" rotors since performance enhancements also add weight sometimes, but in the right places

CF doors - Free
Removal Of Interior - Free
Seibon Hatch and Custom Lexan window - $
ARC Titanium Strut Bar - $
Braille Race Battery - $
C-west Full Body Kit - Free
Crawford Headers -$
Test Pipes - $
Jic Full Ti Exhaust - $
JWT Flywheel - $
350evo Dry Carbon Headlights - $
Bride Seats - $

About $4200 for the mods with dollar signs next to them. Not bad ehhh?

crazy. You got lucky on the CF doors and Cwest bodykit though. So although I know you track the car probably, what kind f 1/4mile times do you think you'd get with all that weight loss?

With the right camber, rim/tire combo, and a good driver probably mid to high 12's on sea level elevation

all for roughly 4200 bucks. not bad. Plus it's probably awesome on the track. Since the bodykit isn't necessary, the cf doors are the only addition that may add to that cost.

The GTC car also uses the 3sgte.

The engine is also used in the famous Team TOM'S Supra that competes in the All Japan Touring Car Championship . It uses standard stroke and bore to a 2.0L displacement , and makes "over" 480hp (357kw) with a 43.0 mm restrictor ! ! ! . Not bad considering the Supra is home to a inline 6 cylinder 2JZ-GTE originally from the factory . There are a few reasons why they run the 3S , and some are , a) They can make the hp goal with the 3S , b) The 3S is lighter than the 2JZ , c) they can sit the 3S all the way to the firewall and safeguard the radiator and intercooler , d) the lower torque of the 3S makes it far more driveable , e) they can run more boost , if running less displacement .
The car below is a monster , pure and simple . It has a Garage Fukui 2.2L stroker crank with matching rods and pistons , HKS metal head gasket with HKS 272º cams and HKS cam gears . Oil is cooled via a TRUST 16 row oil cooler and intake charge is cooled via a 600x300x100mm TRUST intercooler . Fuelling is taken care of 10 Bosch Motorsport fuel pumps [yes ten] feeding the primary fuel rail with 4x 540cc injectors and another secondary rail with 4 more 540cc Denso injectors , that is all controlled thru the HKS FCON-V PRO ECU . Boost is controlled thru a GReddy PRofec B and fed into the engine thru a massive TRUST T-88 34D turbo through a OS Giken triple plate clutch and onto the stock Getrag 6sp gearbox , into the TRD diff and out the wheels to make a damn fine 720hp @ 8500rpm and 637nm of torque at 7800rpm at 1.8bar [26.1psi] ! ! .

I almost did this swap myself, but I already have a 3sgte powered toyota.

I do not think the rb would be a very good swap. For the cost to swap, build and I wonder if the weight savings would be much over a very well built N/A motor. I used to think it sounded like a good idea but I have heard so many complaints about the actualy cost vs power made from that engine, seems a waste.

We have quite a few ideas on dropping weight on the gtfour forum. Might want to concider everything from the mirrors to dropping the stereo and A/C.

Check out project double down. He completely stripped his Z for race. Might give some of you some ideas.

It just boils down to comfort vs performance. I guess when the cost and comfort begins to outweight the cost of a a built tt engine and an A/C in the summer, a pure race car might not seem so "worth it".

I'm shaving mine when I get the car re-painted. I already have the shortest one, 2" long, hahaha

speaking of paint, anyone know if any particular brand or style of paint is lighter? I'm planning on stripping off all of the current paint down to bare metal/carbon and use thin coats when re-painting... supposedely it's good for 20+ lbs of savings!

I felt the difference once i took the spare/jak all the plastic, passinger seat out, switched to lightweigh fly wheel, battery is in the trunk no carpet or mats, exhaust is custom made and no strut bar, no plastic on the engine bay no winshield wiper tank, and light weigh racing rims (17). But the only bad thing about it was traction.
