Which exact hood did you purchase? I am able to pick up the carbon hood with one hand its much lighter than the stock hood and much more expensive.

I think I will go in the garage and weigh my FRP Ings LX Front Fenders for the purpose of this thread.

I purchased the C-West hood in FRP since I plan on painting it anyways. I'm sure the CF version is a bit lighter, but I could not justify spending that much for a hood I plan on painting. It will be here on Monday

Definitely add information to this thread. This is the thread that made me curious about weight reduction. After going to the track, I immediately ripped everything out lol.

Everytime I see that cage I was exactly the same thing but the road noise is what concerns me the most. Rick I gotta see how bad that road noise is in your car someday.

Where can I find a small, preferably digital, scale that will weigh items up to 40 or 50 pounds? I tried Lowe's and Home Depot's web sites, but all they had is one analog kitchen scale and a bunch of wallpaper.

I know some of you guys must have trick digital scales... Where'd you get them?

I picked up the 400lb Pelouze at Staples since I also use it as my bathroom scale ... you can get the lower weight ones that go up to 150lb for under $100 or search on ebay for pelouze or salter brecknell.

This is the one I got...seems the most versatile for the money since most scales that weigh heavy items aren't very accurate for the small stuff too.

I just installed an aftermarket zoom mirror that is definitely lighter than the OEM homelink. I am waiting for my digital scale to arrive and then I will weigh the difference.

I read about relocating you battery to the rear, has anyone really done that. It would make sense to get some weight out of the front and put it in the rear for rotation and braking.

^ That's a really popular mod for fox body mustangs since their weight distribution was crap and it helped put weight over the drive wheel for drag racing. The Z is more balanced to start, but I'm sure it would help if you removed the spare and put the battery in it's place. Remember you are adding weight back in with the extra wiring and sealed battery box.

I'm not that hardcore but am about to replace my factory battery (35-40lbs) with the 21lb Braille battery. 14-19lbs is a goodly sum and as far as I can tell there are no performance shortcomings with this battery like with their smaller versions.

That's exactly what I am stepping up to. I ran two B14115's (11.5 lbs) to the ground. My car is not driven much, so it was my fault for not getting some sort of trickle charger.

going to be doing the same thing myself. The last cornerbalance I had done showed the front left was my heavy corner
