As far as the heater core, you have to take the entire dash out, and then you have to fool with the dash frame that is built around the dayum thing.

YOu car is way better looking than, but these were taken right after i removed the dash and heater core. I assume you have a dash bar as part of your cage, so you might not have to fool with the OE bar like i did.
Thanks for the tips. However, I did some digging around and the heater core is removed

Cool, I assume you still have your dash then? I haven't seen a pic of your car in years, heck I think I was still in the Lightning when you started ripping stuff out of yours. Can you post a pic of your interior?

Yeah, still running the factory dash. Nothing is behind it though. All unnecesary items were removed.

In regards to pics of my interior, I posted it on post 508:

No need for airbags if you have a full cage, harness, and good seat.

That is one of the cleanest cage installations I have ever seen. Good job...

The seat position for racing (generally more forward and upright), would tend to make airbags dangerous.....You are much closer to the steering wheel than you would normally be during street driving.

I just need to sourrce some resistors so I can get rid of the light show. After a few hours behind the wheel that flashing light really burns into the back of my brain.

Thanks! The welds and tight clearances are definitely nice. My cage builder deserves all of the credit. The 12-pt cage build can be viewed here:

Another note... You can buy them for $39 at Amazon. That's where I got mine.

I don't have a lightweight battery yet, but I'm planning to get the B2015 like Rick.

Lots of links...
Thanks for the heads up on amazon. Free super saver shipping is great

I've had mine for about ayear now, the odysey battery just wont keep a charge unless I drive it everyday. It is too hard to get in and out of so it sits until it is time to go the track.

The odyssey PC680 held up well for me when I drove the car more. However, I have destroyed two Braille B14115's due to neglect. Hopefully the B2015C will hold up better with the trickle charger

I know it was useless but I thought it was humorus. Anyway I dont know if it has been covered but alot of people drop weight by removing as many brackets from their engine and interior as possible and replacing them with zip ties. Like I said might have been covered. I also I have heard of people removing the steel floor boards and replacing them with aluminum...

Great thread, makes me wanna trade some of the mods i bought for the Z. Only thing i've done to reduce weight is remove the spare/tools and replace stock cats with TestPipes. Things i've done to add weight are:
Bassani TD Exhaust (felt a lot heavier compared to stock)
Buddy Club Coilover (also felt a lot heavier compared to stock)
Wheel spacers (some added weight)

Anyone try to mount a braille b3121 yet? What combo of brackets hooks worked for you?

I got mine today and have tried a few different configs and it just doesn't want to sit real secure. The way I drive this thing will be sliding loose in no time. I think I'm going to have to fab something up.

I did break out the postal scale and the stock battery is confirmed at 35 lbs MOL. So 14lbs savings is nothing to sneeze at.
