Default Aftermarket Brake pads, LESS DUST?

ANyone know of any high performance pads that will accumulate less brake dust for the wheels, I have the standard brakes, not the Brembos? I'm getting my 3 piece wheels next week and cannot live with the brake dust problem, I may have to take the front brakes off completely to eliminate the problem:-). My Z is on blocks at the moment in the garage so new pads would be an easy swap. Thanks for any info.

you were joking right?

yeah, my opinion is that its the pads creating the dust. nothing else, so a different pad compound should produce less dust. but I bet youll get less stopping power, perhaps nissan used a nice soft grippy brake pad that has a short life to get better 60-0 numbers in tests. sorta like tread, they can either offer low life grippy tread and look good, or give you tread that will last a while but their performance in mags will suffer.

they could give you both worlds, but then you pay the price, which is something I dont think they could do.

ok, so that was round about, basicly yes, swap the pads and dust will be reduced. try something more metallic, but expect some squeeking.

front brake pads=100$ TOPS, probably closer to 60$

brake kit=2500$ and up. seems clear to me.

those 2 things solve 2 different problems.

The Ferodo DS2500 have a pretty high coefficient of friction and don't dust too badly... check with Andie @ Cobalt Friction (his member name is Cobalt here)

Ares,
I wish I was joking, Actually I purchased 3 spares off Maximas at the salvage yard for $75 that I was going to temporarily put on the Z while waiting for the wheels to arrive. I sold the wheels/tires for $1700 and promised them to ship out, I had to keep my word to a fellow my350z guy. So, I get home with the spares, jack up one side pop off the stock wheels and the stupid spares will not clear the freekin brakes!!! So I had no choice, I pulled the Z into the garage, put my spare on the rear, grabbed 2 blocks from my front yard landscape for the front left and used 2 jacks for the other side. Its truley a horrible sight!!!!, but I had to keep my word and ship the wheels as promised. The wheels I purchased are 19" 8.5 Front 10" Rear Intro-Forged Aero polished 3 piece Forged wheels, they actually use the same inners and outers as HRE I believe at a sizable discount. I'll definitely post pics when they arrive.
