I think the VB downtime is like 7 days or 6 days. About who makes it i have no idea but all the reviews that i have seen and read r A+ graded so i think it is worth it.

I haven't seen any actual details, but may be interested.

Cost?
Process - payment and communication with SGP?
Timeline for SGP turnaround - one at a time or all at once?
Last day to get in groupbuy?

I have the TN kit w/ no internal engine mods (354 whp on mustang dyno) & don't drive the car hard all the time. Just once in a awhile (when needed) would like to be able to punch to the floor w/o worrying about the tranny. Would this VB upgrade allow my transmission to safely shift automatically at WOT on Auto mode w/o hitting the rev limiter & risking damage?
Thanks!!!

It is pretty easy to get to. Simply drain the tranny fluid, remove tranny fluid pan (requires 02 sensor support removal), remove plunger for Park and Neutral, remove about 5 or 6 bolts holding the VB in, unhook some wiring (do not drop down the VB to far to fast!!), then reinstall in reverse order. When removing and reinstalling tranny fluid pan, it is best to get new bolts and gasket or be very careful tightening them back down. The tranny fluid is expensive and it will require quite a few quarts at ~$10-12/quart. The Nissan fluid is the only one you can use. Getting the fluid level correct is somewhat challenging as it is best to know the fluid temp to read the crappy dipstick properly. Kinda sucks as you want the fluid level right.

I did both the VB and TC on my own in the garage on Jack stands. The VB is not that hard but a little scary as a mistake could result in some serious tranny problems. Um, don't try the TC alone unless you are crazy. I got it done but it was not easy as the Auto tranny is pretty hard to manuever, even on a jack, and getting to some of the frickin bolts that hold it to the engine and the wiring harnesses that have to be removed, aaahhh having nightmares as I type. Still took less time than installing the Crawford Headers

with the power you have maybe first will hit once or twice in AT mode since the tranny is not made for such power and does not reconize when to change but in manual mode you can bet money on it that it will shift as soon as you want.

Just to put it this way the price is really good for the VB or at least to me it is.

Anyone here know for certain if the FX35 shares tranny compononents with the G/Zs? I know Stillen would do the VB upgrade on my FX if I wanted, I'm looking to the the SGP VB and TC if possible.

With the VB and TC upgrade does the AT shift pattern change? I guess I'm asking is it safer on the tranny to shift in MM vs. auto if your car has FI.

Hitting the rev limiter means the fuel is getting cut, you want to avoid this whenever possible. If you ECU hasn't learned down to a slower mode, hitting the rev limiter in Auto with FI is easy and should be avoided.
