Wait for the R35 Skyline motor...then swap!
I have heard that Nissan will be using a cast iron, turbocharged version of the 3.5L V6 as the motor of choice in its new Skyline. Nissan will also make it "obvious" that the new "R35" will be equipped with a "3.5" litre motor in the badging. I figure, why not wait until the new skyline comes out, and let the market get a taste of what it and the motor can do, then...simply (and by simply, i mean if all goes as planned with the 3.5l V6) do a engine swap with all the electronics and etc... Nissan did say that the new Skyline will be based of the "FM" platform (G35, G35c, 350z) so parts should be relatively interchangable if not swappable. Forget all this RB, SR, etc... swaps. Wait for the turbocharged V6...more power, reliability, tuneability, and its everything we Z owners have been waiting for....a factory turbocharged 3.5L V6....WAIT!

haha, iron my ***. They are not going to turn the the lighter aluminum engine into a cast iron block engine.
And the G-35 sedan has an AWD VQ35, and so does the Murano. Its the same technology Nissan has been using for awhile, of course its updated.
The engine might get stronger rods and pistons, but thats about it. Cheaper to buy forged internals.

I had the same idea! Don't know if it'll be cast iron or not but it should have the same mounts and roughly the same size. Will be an easy swap and considering how much mechanics and shop charge for taking an engine apart, it might be cheaper to just swap it. If I remember correctly the VQ35 engine cost $4k, I can't imagine the VQ32DETT would cost more than 6k.
