Colder A/c Anyone ??? :)
heres a tip for colder ac,
all you have to do is disconnect the two hoses going from engine compartment firewall) to heater core inside the dashbord..then connect the two hoses together ...
so what you are doing is stoping hot water from entering passenger compartment
good luck

i never use the heater so it works out
you could always get a valve that can open and close and stick it inline...

actually stock cooling system is great my first mod was the nismo thermostat my temp gauge only moves like one millimeter above cold and always remains below the first line

yeah i have one of those also, along with a koyo radiator
my temp gauge hasn't ever gone out of hand yet even on a track day
I'll have to think about if I want to try what you did though since here in AZ it's hardly ever cold and my engine warms things up pretty well anyway.
how much cooler is the AC?
I thought the Z's AC was pretty cold as is - nothing wrong with even colder though of course

I'm not seeing how the A/C can be any cooler with the heater disconnected. The only way that is possible is if you turn the thermostat up from the coldest setting. If you don't have the temperature dial set all the way down on 60° then you're using the heater to warm the air so it's not quite as cold.

Why not just cut the hose and install a stopcock inline. That way you can close it in the summer and open it in the winter.

Dave you cool the heater pipes in your vent area cold a/c air passing thru wont get affected by it.
you will appreciate it even more after parking in the sun all day you get quicker cool downs

now hot water will circulate in the engine compartment and not inside the car
i think your best bet is to find some kind of stopcock valve like on the old chevy trucks and just cut the stock hose and add the valve.just make sure you cut the hose going from motor to passenger area and not the hose thats going from passenger area back to water pump
i'm just wondering if there's any sorta side effects from doing this
during the winter here it's never THAT cold and the Z's engine warms up my car a little anyway - and I can always throw on a coat or something so I'm kinda considering this.
The summers are always brutal here....
