Dyno runs
hmmm, do you guys realize that different types of dynoes can give way different readings, allong with tire pressure and front end alignment as well. A inertial dyno will give higher but more accurate readings while a eddy current(loaded dyno) gives lower readings, as much as 10 % between different dynoes. And as said before a new car will never make optimum power till 20 000 km plus as every moving part in the driveline must break in. I have (bought for my gf) a 2003 Tiburon V-6 with mods running 160 whp on a loaded dyno, on a inertial i hit 170 whp, and i lose 15 % with a FWD, and a RWD is closer if not over 20 % you must consider the change of direction of the rotation of the engine causes alot of friction in a rwd rear end. Anyways i am buying a Z for spring time and am looking forward to tuning the beast to its max, my Tib is not solid enough platform, its really a girls car.
Also, on the same topic, how long does it take the ECU to learn and adapt to a new mod such as an intake? I know some cars it's instantaneous and others it takes a few days. [/B][/QUOTE] -----------------------------------------------------------------------
i spoke to somebody about this, i can't remember from what company, but, it might of been Avalon Racing..the said 500 to 800 miles.

Gearing: a chassis dyno is susceptible to gearing bias. More power can be produced on a dyno graph by simply running the test car in a lower gear. Dyno operators should pick the trans gear that is closest to a 1:1 ratio to avoid gearing bias. This ratio is 4th gear in most cars. But for z it is 5th gear right? or am I wrong?
