Some of your power the computer cannot negate, obviously, since you're at almost 300whp. I always complain about how my car is inconsistently powerful, and I'm bone stock. In your case, the difference must be night and day, with the ECU playing catch-up after all the resets.

Anyways, I am looking forward to your findings! It would be nice if we found an Nissan engineer with a modded Z. He would know what's up :P

i don't know, it's all kinda speculation.

That nissan tech said he heard the stock engine can run up to 320whp with proper tuning

I'm not sure what to think of that.

I hope to gain around 10whp, but mainly I just want a flat fuel curve and it to stay flat. Hopefully that eliminates my misfiring my car has and don't trip SES lights every other start up.

So I'd say the range I'm hoping to gain is 0-30whp.

I don't really think I'll gain 30whp, but it might be possible based on the nissan engineer's words. However with adding power, it isn't 1+1=2 math. It might be I've already gained most of that potential power he says you can gain.

TS and AAM flashes gain power, but I think after a certain point with bolt ons, the MAF sensor gets saturated - actually I read that it easily can get saturated, and that was one of the 1st things FI kits overcame.

So with enough bolt ons the MAF gets saturated and the O2 sensor detects worse emissions than expected

Yeah, it's definitely not 1+1=2 math, unfortunately I guess keeping it consistent is really the important thing. But, considering you've spent so much in NA mods, a 30+whp gain would be real nice ALthough reliability shoudl eb on your side, I would still expect a 150hp gain or more after spending that kind of dough.

Very interesting. I never heard of this. Neat info. But, how did the FI kits overcome the MAF saturation though? Because they are built somewhat emissions friendly?

I thought all the FI piggybacks adjusted A/F with voltage settings for the MAF.

I don't think the greddy Emanage works that way though....and greddy kits have probably blown more engines than any other FI kit right?

KwikZ - I noticed in your tagline that you've got an 01 Silverado 5.3L and a Durango 5.9L with "All the boltons" as you mentioned..

Did you really expect to see big V8 torque out of a V6 engine that's like 40% smaller? The Z is not just about straight line power. Why don't you take your Durango with "Bolt Ons" to the track and I'll take your Z and we'll see who gets better lap times?

Dude, if you wanted to "Take people off the line" you should have saved your money and picked up another redneck-mobile like a duster with a hemi...

you misunderstood what i am trying to say here bro i am not comparing, im just angry at nissan for making a sports car that cant be moded safely ...

look with out the luxury of a tuning software what ever mod you do even soft mods like cold air can affect your air/fuel ratio or timing you can even blow the motor... nissan has chose to not let me mod my car safely because the computer wont compensate for mods nor will they let me buy a program to do my own custom tuning because they wont share the codes with anyone.
man if i had a tuning program i would be all over that twin turbo deal rite now

with my truck i just connect my laptop to my truck when ever i feel like it and start changing or deleting things..thats why its safe to add a blower or what ever you feel like adding to your pride and joy....

i have had my radix supercharger on my truck for a year and a half with out problems why??? cos i can play with the PCM to make the truck accept the new mods...

i cant think of any other sports car that has such a complicated manegment system like the Z

im sure the nissan people read these posts all the time and my message to them is........

WHY HAVE YOU CHOSE THIS TYPE OF COMPUTER FOR YOUR SPORTS CARS???I CAN UNDERSTAND IF YOU DID THAT TO YOUR TRUCKS AND REGULAR CARS BUT WHY TO YOUR SPORT DIVISION
DONT YOU KNOW IT WILL HURT SALES AND MAKE THIS CAR LESS DESIRABLE AND EVEN LESS COMPETITIVE....

dude i love my Z im just a bit disappointed with its power... lost a race to a frigin 5000lb 300C this morning
If you lost to a 300C you need to learn how to drive bro. The problem is you, not your car. A stock Z with a half decent driver should beat a 300C, I absolutley murdered one on the highway, even gave him a nice jump. Look at the link in my sig, if you dont think my bolt-on times are "quick" for a Z that is, then you need to trade your car in for a Mustang or an SRT-4 something with easier power potential. My Z with less than $2000 in engine upgrades has trapped 7mph over stock....do some homework before you come on here making yourself look dumb.

What a tool.

Are you sure you are not having any problems with the car. 3-4th gear you're right in the powerband and should be pulling hard ... maybe you should check into it.

Are you referring to O2 simulators? Where did you find some?

Um, you do realize that there is a 300C Hemi w/ 340hp and 390 lb-ft of torque, right?
