Anyone use this Fuel Injector Cleaner (44K)

I haven't put it in my Z yet, but put some in my 02 Maxima last year. I heard a lot of good things about this product. Supposedly the best additive out there.
They say to use it every 30K miles.

On my old 1990 Q45 [284,000 miles] still has as built injectors, I've used the BG44K product since 1990 [going thru 3 formula changes]...........probably over kill but I use it prior [1 tank full prior] to each 90 day oil change.
Then again Georgia gasoline blends [Atlanta containment area] are and were pretty benign at least until recently.......for the last year or so 93 labeled has been more like 91.6......on a good day fresh from the pipeline.
Watch out for low cost generic fungible premium as the detergent levels are just enough to pass the minimalistic EPA test........not what one needs to keep system as new - just enough for functionality...........saving a penny at the refinery and another at the tanker fillup adds up to $2 million per day saved for oil companies.
A "keep clean or clean up" label on the pumps usually means more detergents which means you can stretch your BG44k purchase intervals. 7.5 - 9 cents per gallon for BG vs just paying 2-3-4 cents more for Chevron and others.
Not sure every 30k [long interval] [injector cleaning/valve stem carbon build up/piston tops] will accomplish what you desire? Better than nothing however.

Just put some BG44 in my wife's tank yesterday. Seems like it ildes better and increased my MPG by 5MPG.
Hell I don't know what it did, but I have heard its great for the injectors!

I also live in Dallas and only use Shell or Chevron 93 octane gas. I drive a different car to work and have noticed better gas mileage in that car after about 2 continuous months of Shell 87 octane. Given that, I may not get as much benefit from Techron as those who don't have access to gas w/ that much detergent as Shell.
I drive mostly on the weekends and never have to commute in my car. I have about 29,000 miles and have had my Z since 10/2002. I keep Mobil 1 in my car and when my gas mileage slips below about 290 per tank, I use a shot of Techron and then change my oil.
I hope this helps, xStriderx

Until I saw a NISSAN branded OEM fuel injector cleaner bottle at my dealer... why would it be bad if they sell it?

Fuel injector and fuel tank cleaners do not hurt your vehicle if used correcty, over use can cause deposits that clog the injectors or damage the fuel lines. It is most definetly necessary though. Trust me, if you've ever looked at gasoline from your fuel tank, you would be amazed at what sort of crap floats around in it.
Our 3part service consists of a 44k, a cleaner which you spray inside the filter and thottle body to clean and lubricate, and a top engine cleaner which has to be "ingested" through the system.

I just took my Z with ~7800 miles in for service. I asked for oil & filter and the dealer recommended the upgrade to the BG products. They put a can of BG motor addditive down the oil filler and a can of BG fuel injector cleaner down the gas tank. Since the entire service was only $45 including oil & filter, I went with it. I guess only time will tell the true benefits if any. They recpmmend it at the 7500 mark alternated with a higher level service that includes the 3 part system mentioned above every 15K interval.
I always read/heard that additives were unnecesary and possibly harmfull to modern engines. I was surprised to see the dealer had a whole menu of levels based on these BG products.

I think that you guys are getting ripped off, we charge 19.99 for the 44K, over the counter and 43.95 for the 3-part induction service, plus labor, which has currently slipped my mind.
On a side note, BG actually offers machines to dealers which they incorporate into the services, for example, they offer an AT transmission flush that uses a BG machine to flush the system. Or a syphoning system for their top engine cleaner. It sort of comes as a package deal. Both parties make money and it helps the car out too. I'm not gonna blow smoke up your @$$ though, it can be a scam, I'd say 15K is far too frequent for the 3part and just right for the 44K, unless of course you live in California and have to submit your car to that substance they pass off as gas.
