Default Mods from Prospec

Has anyone ordered any Mods from the Prospec site. They have all kinds of stuff for the Z, including Nismo and other products. Was wondering if anyone has ordered from them, and if they were satisfied. I was thinking about getting the louder Horn for my Z, and some other mods.

No, but same parts can be ordered from japanparts.com and with the currency exchange they are much cheaper there, unless shipping is a big difference I would go with japanparts.com

Damn! Your right. I did some currency conversions and Japanparts.com is much cheaper. For example, the earthing system is over $100 more expensive from Prospec, and the Sport horn is 3 times the price as the one from Japanparts.

Next question, Has anyone ordered through Japan Parts, and if so how long did the shipping take, how expensive was shipping and was it easy to place an order. I noticed that you cannot order online through Japanparts.

I didn't see the grounding kit, but the body kit is 1429GBP, which converts to $2234. Japanparts has it for $2458. The Nismo suspension kit is $1755 on Japanparts and it's $1611 at ProSpec.

I've asked them for a quote but I've not received a response yet. Based on the feedback about Japanparts I'd be inclined to go with them, but it's always worthwhile to get competitive quotes.

I only looked at the Sport Horn and Grounding kit. This info is very intersting. Maybe I'll order parts from both places. I am trying to make myself wait till the Nismo parts offically come to the U.S. I heard that this will happen some time 1st quarter of 2003. I'm thinking that maybe all these parts will be cheaper once the are marketed in the U.S. I'll have to wait and see.

I've seen that chip on the Prospec site and am not interested. Who woul buy it if it only removes the rev limiter? I was hoping that Nismo would come out with a chip to boost HP, etc. There was an interesting post from one of the Nissan engineers about the potential of a Nismo chip on the new Z. The damn thing should at least increse some HP! Otherwise what's the point?

It says that it also changes the ignition map.

I was told from a source in Japan that this would not be good for our cars because it is for the JDM model only.

I got a response from ProSpec today. They forwarded my RFQ to Nismo in Japan as they are not setup to handle exports to the US.

Oh well... I asked a couple of my coworkers in Japan to see what kind of deal i might be able to get, but it's looking like Japanparts is the place to go if you want Nismo parts now.

Default Exporting to the US.

Hi,

Thank you for your comment.
First of all, the price shown on our website is British Pounds and it is for the UK customers.
We are based in London, so we have to take your payment in British Pounds.
Therefore, you have to take double exchange rate changing risk. (From JPY to GBP, then GBP to USD).
We will sort out this problem asap.
Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.

Yours,
Shin
