how did the engine blow up exactly and what part broke?

What caused the engine failure? Engines do not simply blow up. Was it burning oil? Leaking coolant? Running lean, etc... Was the car tracked? etc...

for example, If something was clearly installed inproperly, or proper maintenance was not done, or a modification is directly linked to the failure, than there is nothing that will get you warranty work done.

I'd have to know what happened just before the motor went. If you misshifted then they can't be held responsible for that kind of driving error.

There are tons of VQ35s out there. There's nothing mechanically different between the 03-04 350Zs and G35s. The difference lies in the software and you won't be messing with that. You should be able to find a low mileage junkyard VQ35 for about $1500. Then figure another $1500 to swap motors.

Did you find out what caused it? Were you burning oil before or anything?

Pretty weird! Nothing in your mod list should void your warranty. Basically you just have intake and exhaust mods that shouldn't hurt an engine.

Its almost as if you didn't post anything Mike.

My motor blew exactly like yours did n/a 51000 miles and my modifications were test pipes/nismo exhaust and aftermarket clutch and flywheel. The warranty was honored immediately. What is their reason for not wanting to honor the warranty? I went back and forth with Infiniti/Nissan about my oil consumption for about a year before the engine blew.

I was wondering about the age of the people who got their's warrantied. Because they didn't even question me. They even knew I was at the track.

The problem I see with the original posters dilema is that if the dealer already said they contacted Nissan and NNA rejected it, it really won't matter which dealer he takes it to. It will all have to be processed through NNA.

lets be realistic, they probably didnt even call nissan north america, and if they did, he just needs to call them now and they will direct him to a dealer after he gives them hell.

DO NOT REST until you a get a free motor.
