High Clutch? want to lower your clutch engagement point?
WOW!!!, I can actaully drive my car now! I turned rod about 2 times, and now my clutch travel is only half a foot, compared to a foot before. I use to drive my car real jerky (My first manual), but now the shifts are smooth and precise!
I highly recommend this mod for first time stick drivers. It's a hell of a difference! Also, I dont see how this can have any wear on the clutch plate down the road. When I did this adjustment, there was no rubbing, rattle, or any other noticeable signs of unwanted clutch engagement. Stop being paranoid, and drive your car for what it is.

I did this about a month or so ago and loved it. Now it's back up where it was before. Is there something that auto-adjusts the engagement point back to factory? I know I haven't put that much wear on my clutch since then...

There is no way it can move. You had to 'physically' turn a yoke around a threaded rod and then tighten a lock nut. The one on my car is prevented from moving back by this arrangement. I don't know about wear on the clutch however...
The cruise control button is adjustable. And I would fully expect the clutch pedal height to change as the clutch disk wears, but this should be minimal and is likely the reason why the factory pedal height is set so high to begin with from the factory.
Well, you can overdo it for sure. I lowered my clutch so much that I could hardly get into first or second gear anymore with my foot on the clutch pedal. I raised it back some and now it is OK.
Are you guys having the clutch pedal "stick" when you release it from the floor? The main problem i had besides the cruise control not working, was everytime i would shift, putting the pedal half way or two the floor, and releasing, the pedal would kinda stick and not return fully upright. This annoyed the hell outta me which is why im back to the stock height, but hate it. Its difficult to shift smoothly when the engagement point is so close to the top.
All I can say is that when I set mine initally, it was perfect. Engaged right off the floor. Now, it's back to where it was before. And I turned the screw 4-5 times. Though it's actually been longer than a month, two to three or so...
I'll try adjusting it again this weekend.

Seems everyone is different. I did this to my 05 ages ago (look back a few pages) and I love it. They only problem I've developed now is that the clutch doesn't fully release at the very top, but it's nothing to worry about.

i did this mod on the weekend, i didn't turn the pin that many times, but i do feel a difference in pedal travel....but it feels weird, how do you know if it is not fully engaging?
i just did this tonight in 30* weather
but omg my 03' is now a much better car, don't know how much i adjusted it, kinda guessed and checked my way through. Couldn't be much since my clutch pedal is still slightly higher than the brake and my cruise required no adjusting...
BTW those that have the "throwout bearing" rattle with the clutch out in neutral it makes it easy to adjust. I sat on the ground with the car running and worked the clutch with my hand and i can hear exactly when the clutch was starting to engage with the rattle sound, i have it about 3" above the floor and no problems with it not releasing all the way or what not...
Great free mod, from start to finish is about 20mins to get it adjusted perfect

Hmm, I think my second gear is getting increasingly harder to get into. Well, at least there's a "notch" feeling to it now. Now all of the time, but enough to cause me to worry. I'm going to adjust my clutch back a turn before I store the car for the winter... We'll see what that does. Mind you, I was only in 2 turns at max.
