Default My baseline dyno results

Let me start off by saying i am very confused about my results. My Z is stock with only a HKS Hi Power exhaust. The dynos were ran on a Dyno Mite Land and Sea dyno which i have never heard of. The guys at the shop told me this dyno reads lower than a Dynojet and Mustang dynos so i was like oh well. The weather was very humid and HOT as well and it was scorching. I was sweating in that garage. The results? 217.4 WHP at 6123RPM...What the ****...My torque hit about 215 and peaked at about 3500 RPM.

The weird thing comes next. I do my second pull and notice i get the exact same results, but then the dyno reads the peak HP was at 7400 RPM. Now i know for a matter of fact the car DID not rev that high. It was basically a dyno malfunction. Must it have read something else incorrectly? I got no AF as well for $35 for 2 pulls .

Agreed, you found a bad dyno and bad dyno operators. On the positive side it was a very cheap experience. Where was this dyno located? So others can be sure to avoid them.

I was reading a thread about all the various dynos and which was best to purchase. Everyone said stay far away from Land and Sea dynos. Find someone with a Dynojet, Mustang, or Dynapak.

According to my latest e-mails with Dynapak, no one in Florida currently has this equipment in their shop.

Actually there are many different shops in Central Florida with many dyno spots. There is CFT, Titan Motorsports, Next Level performance and more with Dynojet and Mustang dynos not including the Tampa area which is close by as well. I've never heard/seen of a Dynapacks around the area but i'm sure there is one around. I guess going to the local one isn't the best idea

Well since I've scheduled dyno days at Titan Motorsports (where a GreddyTT blew up his engine and my car burnt through a tie strap), Irish Mikes (where they backed out on me at the last minute) and now we have our third dyno day (second time at Next Level Performance) with Mike and Tom on August 27th, I'm pretty familiar with the local shops.

I will repeat myself... When I contacted Dynapack and asked about their Florida locations I was told that they didn't have any!

I wanted a dynapack particularly because the G35 guys in CA did a dyno day and saw EXTREMELY HIGH RESULTS and I wanted to have a similar comparison w/o having the rear wheel on the vehicle. Knowing we run on 93 octane and have similar mods, I wanted to see how the Crawford Package stacked up w/ the Kinetix Klan and the Hydrazine Harridans.

FYI, the best shop in FL for tuning the R4 software is supposed to be Coastal Dyno over in Tampa/Clearwater.
