Default Checking Oil with Crawford Strutbar

This is going to sound dump but I tried to check my oil on Friday and for the hell of it I could not get the dip stick out smoothly because the Crawford Strutbar is topping it. SO by the time I get it out oil is all over the stick and I can't do any accurte readings and getting it back it seems to be even harder.

Has anyone managed to get this highly "complicated" procedure of checking once oil with a Crawford Strutbar to work correctly and if how?

I noticed that too. I can get it out but putting it back is a PITA. It's too flexible and won't go in without supporting it over the length.

Anybody know of an aftermarket dip stick that is stiffer?
