if you're not having any issues with it, then keep it. the 'recall' is only for those that have issues with the reverse knub being rubbed down.

You can see the difference, left is older design, the right is the newer one

when installed the pin should look like this, with the top of the knub flush with the brass plate when moving to like 5th or 6th:

So..if I have new Version shifter, I'm safe right? I won't have any problem with that rubbing or grind with installation plate

yes. you should be ok. after driving for a few hundred miles. take off the plastic cover, and RETIGHTEN the brass plate so it wont move out of place, that may prevent any issues of getting into Reverse or what not-

talked with B&M .. there was no recall for the 1st version. But there was a change. If you have 1st version + the recieve, you can mail the shifter back to B&M to modify without no cost. No recieve = no luck. I bought mine a year ago

if ur having an issue with it, and the knub from version 1 is rubbing down, then yes you should ask for a service.

otherwise, if u have no issues and the **** is not wearing, then they're not going to replace it since it's not defective.

yes I have that issue, and its hard to shift to 5th gear too. When you said "ask for a service" what kind of service and who should I ask ? B&M authorized dealer or bmracing.com contact list ?

not to me ... even if you have 2nd version, you still have to deal with rattle problem.

rattle to B&M isnt an 'issue'.. it's the rubbing of the shifter block.

you should contact B&M directly in California. i'm not sure if their dealers would do anything about it.

got the 2nd ver. , much better, but still rattle when i hit 3k rpm, but the rattle gone when it hti 3.5k rpm. weird. I think the reason that cause b&m short shifter rattle is because its made of 2 pieces, (while rouge and stock one only made by 1 piece), the rattle is at the join of that 2 pieces, no relates to the shift *** thought. (I took the shift *** out, went for a ride and still hear the rattle)
