It is very hard to blow a motor due to being lean NA. I had 15.2:1 a/f's for about 10K miles. I ragged the $hit out of my car, ran it at the track, even did a top-speed run like that without ever hearing detonation. On hot a$$ days it would feel lazy in the upper rpm's I could feel the ecu pull back timing. Anyways not to say you shuld run your car that lean, but if you have to its ok. I even went to two different dyno's to verify my a/f it was that lean.

I think it is riskier for him since he is FI. I would cry to see my car running 15:1 on FI

Thumbs up

I should have added this information in my dyno graph post to show differences in mods for people.

-ARC Intake
-350evo throttle body
-Crawford Headers
-Helix Test Pipes
-JIC Y-Pipe
-JIC Single Exit exhuast
-One Step Colder Plugs
-Sun Cyberspeed Ground System
-UR Pullies
-TS Reflash and running 11.2:1
-Exhaust Leak

262.4hp @ 6211 / 257 TQ @ 4821

I was able to find this to compare my dyno chart to. Not bad considering I still need a plenum/IM and some better tuning. I think I need to pm skrill for his AF ratio during that run.

No one time charge as long as you are not screwing with your car

These cars love to run a bit lean and for NA, ideal would probably be anywhere from 13:1 to 13.5:1

Got the car on the lift to fix my exhaust leak and the culprit was a cracked test pipe! I will post pics tomorrow

My cracked test pipe is replaced and the reflash was redone at TS once again to lean her up a bit. At 3K to 4.5K it is about 13:1 and it dips really fast to 12:6 then back up to 12.9:1 to 13:1 the rest of the way till redline. I can't wait to dyno it again

mine has never been remotely near good and I've sent it back to them 4 times with A/F charts showing me at 14's at redline. I initially went there in person and they street tuned it, said the A/F was perfect. Back in AZ, dynoed and was detonating like crazy on the dyno
This sounds like my situation, except I'm still waiting to hear back from Technosquare on what to do. I brought my ECU to them to be reflashed based on my mods. My previous dyno had my car in the 14.9:1 - 14.0:1 range throughout the whole band. After the reflash, my car was in the 14.7:1 through 13.9:1 range (13.9:1 only at the very top end). The engine knocked audibly from 5200 and up so we had to get off it.

This was on an 85F day w/ 91 octane chevron gas.

I pity those w/ the same NA mods (or more than me) that beat on their z's daily w/o a reflash. Now to get my reflash reflashed!
