Sorry about the confusion.. and just make everything clear that gain does NOT come by just adding a spacer to your plenum. The first dyno sheet belongs to me and let me tell you this the G pulls way harder out of a corner now even other G drivers says it pulls harder on the "butt-dyno" when I give them a ride. IMO this is the ideal and must have N/A bolt-on mod for the 298motor.

Why the confusing title? I didnt want to post 2005 G35 Coupes.. instead I used 298hp motor infear of it getting moved to the G35 Section. And the +HP gain was the biggest gain on the curve.

The dynapack is..

a dyno that attaches directly to the wheel hubs. Not like the usual dyno jets where you drive the car onto rollers and spin them.. So thats how much power the car is making at the rotors WITHOUT the wheels on.. Like Tony said, this type of dyno was chosen so we can overcome the variables of torque steer, loss of traction, tire heat thread, and other distortion that'll give us faulty numbers. I dynoed mult times on that dyno and each time i returned there to double check the baseline, i get the exact curve everytime. if you guys want you can match the baseline of the sheet with the stock dyno chart in my sig..

so for accurate tuning and solid base line IMO the dynapack is the way to go. to show off and be a dyno king, mustang dyno, dyno jet, etc.. would be your friend

Tony,

+1 for gains on 287hp motor.

also, does this mod replace the plenum spacer and/or aramid gasket?

it wouldnt be individual throttle bodies...or something akin to that?

Hi guys,

I hear you. Especially the skeptics! Its completely reasonable to be skeptical at this point with all the rediculous mods that come out with rip off claims... Hehe. I see all the same threads you do!

This is great. I'm actually very happy to be able to make the same claims as the bogus advertisers and have a real product to back it up. I'm also happy because this probably represents the single most effective mod for the VQ, short of nitrous or FI. I'll just have to take some flames until I can get all the information released.

A FULL DESCRIPTION, PICTURES AND DYNOS WILL BE IN THE NEXT ISSUE OF SZM BY THE WAY!

As for its effectiveness on the 287 motor, it will probably only do around 5-8 HP but this is only a WAG. I still need to dyno it on a 287 motor.

I have been asked about strip times.

I think this is a very good question. I would like to see the test performed but that certaintly excludes me. It would have to be from an experienced driver who can get good times CONSISTANTLY.

Go to the track. Do several runs. Install the mod and do several more runs.
...Then do a statistical analysis on the 0-60's, ET's and trap speeds.

This mod will be in the $500 range so I will hook you up 1/2 price.
Any takers???

You must be an experienced drag racer with consistant numbers!!!!

Test must be done with a releatively stock REVUP engine.

BTW I HAVN'T EVEN NAMED THIS MOD YET.
BASED ON THE DYNO SHEETS, WHAT SHOULD I CALL IT????

RECOMMENDATIONS PLEASE!!!

Thanks.
Tony

All the skeptics have probably not met you Tony. I met Tony at the recent turbonetics event, and he is really a stand up guy.

I don't have any ideas on what to name it, but I'm dying to get more detail about it. Come on Tony, when will we see what this is?

Thanks for the props! Its written up in the next issue of SZM so it certaintly cant be any later than that.

But I will probably be able to get it out sooner than that.

I've been pretty busy lately with the GB and all... Now that its finally done I can work on getting this project presented properly.

I gotta write up all the details on it, how it works and how I figured it out. Its really pretty easy but it just takes time.

Like I promised. A lot of people will be surprised. Mabey some won't be too surprised but it still will make a lot of talk once released. Its too much HP and TQ to not notice.

I bet once word gets out, the news will quickly spread to Japan and Australia too. They love this stuff every bit as much as we do.

Tony,

With all due respect, that's useless. I just received the last copy of SZM about two weeks ago. Don't tell me you're going to hype this for another 2½ months!!!!

Come on, give us something real to work with, not dynos for an un-named, description-less product.

Dave,

Don't need to hold off untill the magazine release to release the product description or anything. I just need to take pictures and write up a full description. And then I need to get it uploaded to the website.

(Notice I havn't even had the time to put the Copper Iso Thermal on the website) Very busy lately...

I also have a ton of dyno data that needs to be be converted to an excel format for detailed analysis. The Excel analysis takes more time than anything else.

I will focus on all of it this weekend.

Tony,

Can you tell us if this mod is compatible with the current Motordyne mods like the Copper heater, aramid gasket, and existing spacers? or does it do-away with one of those?

Also, have you ever thought about applying some of your know-how to other performance areas like Exhaust or even engine internals?

if you came out with a comprehensive exhaust at MD's competitive prices I would be very interested.

Its an easy mod. Otherwise, no comment for now.

Also, have you ever thought about applying some of your know-how to other performance areas like Exhaust or even engine internals?

Yes. They too are in development. Completely different design concepts. Not anything like what is currently on the market. Its potentially a new design path.

NEWS FLASH!!!

CORPORATE NISSAN MUST BE WATCHING THIS THREAD OR WATCHING MY PURCHASING HABITS OR WATCHING FOR GENERAL STATISTICAL ANOMALIES IN PART PURCHASING.

I CERTAINTLY MUST HAVE CREATED A RUN ON PARTS THEY NEVER EXPECTED.

EITHER WAY, THEY ARE ON TO IT AND HAVE ADJU$TED ACCORDINGLY.

ALTHOUGH THE ENTRY TICKET WILL COST A LITTLE MORE, THE GOOD NEWS IS THE REVUP PARTY IS STILL ON!

Not surprising. If you recall back when the first plenum spacers went on sale, people were asked to give up their VIN numbers because (supposedly) Nissan wouldn't sell the gaskets unless they were "tied" to a VIN #.
