need advice on best lsd oil and friction modifier
I ended up buying the nismo lsd since im not so worried about noise as my car is already noisy. My main q is what is the best oil and friction modifier to run with my nismo lsd also the best MT oil since im probably swapping that out too to a synthetic. Thanks in advance.

I can shed some light on this since I have now tried a couple different things. My lsd was never very loud, but recently it was getting louder and engaging abruptly. The noise itself doesn't bother me but the way the diff acts more abruptly when it is noisy is not desirable to me.
After the initial break in (and dizzyness from 20 minutes of figure 8's), I started using Redline 75w90 and has been ok, however after about 4 track days, the diff seems to get a little chattery. I was looking for some royal purple this weekend but my local shop was out of it so I gave mobil 1 a try since it was readily available. It was horrible. Aside from the obvious popping, the engagement was way too abrupt and the car was skipping around corners as the wheels were locking up. I immediately went to autozone and got a tube of sta-lub friction modifier. I put half a tube in and viola. The diff now acts better than it ever did. I am very shocked at what a difference oil can make in these units.
I'm not sure yet how long the mobile 1 with additive will last before it gets noisy, but so far the engagement is the best I've felt. Anyone who is complaining about the noise should really try some additive.

Redline comes with 5% slip modifier. They also sell extra modifier. The redline tech told me that I could try 6% modifier (.5 to 1 oz) to quiet things down but to be careful not to add too much. The idea is to get just enough to reduce the chatter. Anything more would reduce the effect of the lsd. If the mobile 1 doesn't last I may go back to redline and add a little extra modifier.
The mobile 1 is not as thick pouring as the redline. Not sure if that means anything.

Another update, the mobile1 only lasted about 2 track sessions before getting very noisy. I got some royal purple to put in the next morning before going back out on track and the car was back to normal. It seems like the mobile1 doesn't hold up to the heat. It drained out like water.
The royal purple is thick like the redline (and actually is purple). It seems to be ok, perhaps a little more chatter than the redline at the end of the day.
I'll probably go back to redline at my next change with a 1/4 bottle of modifier, now that I've satisfied my curiosity of other products.

I'm sure many of you have used MT90, but has anyone tried the redline heavy shockproof in both the tranny and the diff?
The stuff is thick like honey, but when heated, makes for EXCELLENT gear oil........I've used it in two other cars as tranny fluid, and it goes from nice shifting (MT90) to shifting like butta. It's thick enough I think it'd be a great diff oil as well.

how about Mobilube HD LS 80w-90?
I googled "80w-90" and came across Mobil's website, specifically linking to a page about Mobilube HD LS 80w-90 Limited Slip Gear Lubricant. It is GL5 and is supposedly designed for high performance demands on the drivetrain; higher speeds, higher torque, heavier loads and limited slip capabilities.
Just thought I'd throw it out there as I believe it may be different than the other Mobil products referenced thus far...
