Default should i go from automatic to mannual

Hi their is a mechanic in nissan that says that he can do a tranny swap from automatic to mannual he says he will charge me $400 plus parst he has the tranny. Is it worth it or just trade in for a new one with mannual tranny.

wow when i looked at it not long ago with my old Z i found out it was gonna be bout 3000+ to switch it out. I ended up just trading for a manual car that i liked better for less. but if it ends up being pretty cheap then i would do it. my auto Z was boring but i love the one i have now. sports cars should be manual IMO.

not really but i know people always go to nissan to get their things installed by him. Once their was a asking for him and one of the managers told him that he had a master mechanic their and he was certified to do all that work but the guy said no that he wantedhim to work on his car. I guess he is pretty good even though ill go see what he tells me but i dont think im going to do it becouse is just not the tranny stuff but also i think computers are not the same dashboards not the same and i think differential so its a load of money that i can put down as a dowmpayment and trade mines in to see what they tell me.

just a general question.

if an auto car is converted to manual, will it be as smooth and precise as a factory manual? i have found a lot of auto supras at car auctions, and i would buy them if they were manual, or if i could change it to manual.
