I need one of those! LMAO there are a few test I'd like to go back to and re-take in school. But anyhoo, a lot I mean a lot has to do w/the driver as stated already. Example is my 98 Tacoma 5 speed MT. I beat a 99 Eclipse with all kinds of bolt-on's running a 16.4 or so in the quarter. Not sure if he sucked or what the deal was but I ran him 4 times and beat him. He was a bit upset/shocked haha. He obviously had more HP. Quarter mile times also vary according to sea level. Here in Dallas my Z may run a mid 13 stock while maybe a mid 14 stock in Denver.

I like the guys that post on here about how MT or so and so magazine has the M3 at 13.4 or whatever, the thing is guys, we are talking about a couple blinks of an eye here, .3-.4 secs.. Gimme a break that is why it IS a drivers race.
Anyone that doesn't have much racing experience will always fall back to the magazines.

And at the end of the day, 1 full second in a 1/4 mile is still only 3-4 car lengths... whoopie!
Woah buddy. I was using the magazine stats as evidence that the M3 and Z are even. I have beat an e46 M3 and no one believed me so i had to resort to the magazine.

it should actually b around 10 carlengths; 1 carlength for each tenth in the 1/4, depending on speed, obviously.

Sorry wasn't talking directly about your post. But more or less others that post times, and trying to state that .3-.4 seconds is uber and the Z can't hang.

And as far as the car lengths, I wrote that wrong in my drunken state, I had meant that to be the difference between the M3 and Z.(according to magazine times)

On a circuit, the Z will keep up just fine against an M3. Just get better tires than the stock ones, because the M3s come with stickier tires out of the factory than our lame RE040s.
