internal engine stuff, different cams, VTC pulley, variable exhaust timing

it's not a huge deal really since the 05 has way less tq and way less hp under about 6k rpms, so it's mainly an improvement from 6000-7000 rpms

Where do you get the idea that the 05 track has way less power under 6k? I have a overlayed dyno and they are almost neck and neck until the 05 takes it in the higher rpms.

straight from nissan - 5AT 287hp engine vs 6MT 300hp engine

so yeah the AT vs MT is maybe clouding the numbers slightly, but still an AT is not going to be as strong as a MT.

So I'd figure if the 287hp 5AT engine was manual, the numbers would be even higher. That'd make the difference between the 300hp and 287hp engine even more

Ah ok. The 287hp that I overlayed it with was not the "best" numbers that I have seen for the 287hp, but it was a good average number for the engine. The 287hp seems alittle more tq, but I like the high end pull of the 300hp engine. Just comes down to what you prefer I guess.

Here is mine:

yeah, but it's easier to add some mods that increase the top end than it is the entire powerband

Yeah, that is true. But the mods I have done have really helped out the entire powerband. I am still rich as $h!t, so a tune is on my list.
