there is a KJR pulley i am thinking of installing but it has a groove of some sort and i was wondering if it is still okay to install or if it will have any long term effects...
Hard to tell from the pics. As long as its not a deep groove just a surface groove of where the belt prolly was most likely its fine. If your worried about it being out of balance take it to a local machine/balance shop and have it balanced for like $20.
What grooves? on the side? Top? can you use an arrow? It looks like the top is damaged in your pics. Maybe from a crow bar. I take it that it's used?
b.t.w. Use the Macro mode on your camera next time...you'll get much sharper pics.

my KJR pulley has those rings around the side, but not that NASTY looking scratch...the guys at KJR tell me that the wear rinds around the side are normal...but i dunno about that scratch...
Hope these are better pics . My shop said they do make a metal sleeves , so the small groove doesnt happen . Some one else has one of these up for sale with the same small grooves in it . There are some other small scratches and knicks in the pulley from install and uninstall with my engine rebuild . But it should have no effect on the balance of the pulley . I also had 4 pics loaded but only 3 show up

Yes took them yesterday .I looked at the pics I sent you . Some of what appears as scratches arent scratches . Besides the small grooves , there is one scratch above that and is about an inch and 1/2 long . What looks like scratches that run up and down arent scratches...but just the pic is bad
