Default Carbon Fiber Radiator Cooling Plate. Cool Mod!

Bought another set of Autoteknic Carbon Fiber Cooling Plate from Option Imports. Very cool mod. Not sure about its effectiveness, but it dresses up the engine bay very well. One thing I like about this mod is its EASY! Took me less than 5 mins to install.

Use a screwdriver to carefully pop the 6 plugs located on the top of the bumper. When pulling the plugs out, do not pull the top of the plugs, it will only make it harder to get out. Pull the base of the plugs and they should come out easily. Next, I lined up the holes of the cooling plate with the factory bumper holes. Autoteckic plate that I got lines up perfectly. Pop the plugs back in, clean your finger prints off of the cooling plate(its clear coated) and you're done!

Some pixs...

Very nice, Where can you find that pro-1 engine damper is it worth it, does it really help prevent the engine from moving?

+1 on the www.autotecknic.com CF cooling plate. It also has the indentation in the hinge area so when you shut the hood there are no marks left on the cooling plate which was a major problem with a lot of other cooling plates.
also here's my trick (very similar to Phatmitzu's) in removing the rivets. https://my350z.com/forum/exterior-and-interior/157122-damn-plastic-screws-holding-the-front-bumper.html

Thanks. A vendor was selling the engine damper on here long time ago. You can try to find them on eBay. Yeah, it works pretty well. Throttle is more responsive. Another thing I like about it is easy to install. Compare to the Stillen one.

(if you want to prevent the engine from moving, perhaps bracing it from more than just ONE point on the frame is better. that will just make the engine tweak in an awkward angle under heavy movement.)

now back to the cooling plate..

Cool!! nice mark...
