Seems like a good price as long as the cams are included. Also, I wouldn't rev to 8000 rpm with valve springs as my only mod. The gravitational loads on the piston are too high for the vq's stock pistons and rods.

Why would you not consider Tomei cams? I think they offer some of the best cams on the market for Nissans!

There is more to performance than just top end.

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking too.

Has Ted released the top-secret specs on his cams? You will find that the current cams on the market, are not FI specific, but still work extremely well. You can ask 5 engineers what a good FI specific cam should look like...and you will likely get 5 different answers. :

We've had good success with JWT, and other shops have had great results with Tomei 264 or 268.

I can't rev to 8K. Why I'd have to get the SP REVUL8R engine.

Ted claimed to me last time I was in there that with a UNICHIP and another tune he could gain around 15WHP with his custom cams... That is a direct quote from Ted himself!

$1600 for cams and installation? If that's true, it's a really good price. I was quoted $1500 to install my cams when the long block is already out to be build. I thought if the long block is alreay out, that make installing the cams somewhat cheaper?
