Default Level 10 recommendation?

I was thinking of going with level 10 for both my valve body and torque converter upgrades. Have any of you guys dealt with them before? Good or bad I would like to know. Btw what is the best stage converter for occasional drag strip use? Thanks in advance! Big O

Everything that i have ever seen i the 350z/g35 world and from the Ford Lightning world is that Level 10 is complete crap. You are lucky if your trans comes back with anything done to it. If they do something to it then you are lucky if it last very long at all or barely manages to hold more power then stock. I sent my lightning trans to them and 3 months later i got it back and it broke down before i could get out of my driveway. I was refused and warrenty service or anytype of refund, When i sent it off to a reputable builder they told me that it still had all the stock friction plates, etc and on top of that it broke b/c it wasnt reassembled correctly.

I never had any problems with level 10s products but their core return program sucks. They took forever to credit my card. The valve body and torque convertor upgrade from them works great in my Z. I did here sgp's valve body was better, but i dont know for sure. All i know is my Z hauls after all my upgrades. When i go full throttle my auto chirps gears. I also installed a tranny cooler for my tranny upgrades. Level 10s upgrades worked great for me, but im not going to say they would perfectly for someone else.

Thanks Glen

I had pretty much the same results as Glen. The TC is actually a Protorque converter (which is good) and the VB upgrade is not as aggressive as SGP. I had to have my CC challenge the core exchange system before I actually received my refund from Level 10. Unfotunantely there was really no other option when Glen and I had this done but if I was doing it today I would go with SGP.

Is SGPS that big of a difference, and if so could we just have SGP upgrade ours to their level of intensity?

Thanks Glen

I am sure you could if you wanted to. They do not have a core exchange program so you would have to send it out and wait for it to return. Their VB job is also a little more expensive because they replace some parts to make it a better unit. I have thought about it, and if I truly went FI I wouldn't hessitate to do it.

Edge Racing Converters did a great job on my Trq converter . The SGP valve body is by far...better than Stillen or Level 10 [ from what Ive heard ]. I have the SGP and I can tell you it shifts hard and fast . It does take some getting used to , as it is that much different . Shifts from 1st to 2nd can be a bit to hard at light throttle . And you dont want to shift from 2nd to 1st while going faster than a couple mph . It will result in some funky sounds and stuttering in the tranny . We werent able to shift from 2nd to 1st before , but you can now...but you shouldnt for the reason stated . I havent been able to test it to its fullest yet [ blower is out of the car ] but so far it rocks !!!!!!!!!!

I agree with you. From what i've read and seen posted here. Stillen is not comparable to SGP.

DayBlueZ,

We got nothing. In the midst of 6MT swap now. Fakin Technosquare can't get our flash right for the 3rd time.

Good lesson for everybody though - better have some extra cash available, because you're on your own when **** happens.

Drop em, request a refund, then buy a UTEC. Better for what you are doing anyway.

JLP(Lightning vendor) deals level 10 and seems to have a lot of happy customers. Not the way I went for my Lightning (went BTS), but I haven't seen a lot of problems amoung Lightning owners.
