have a weird oil leak. for those who have changes out your spark plugs, you know that they are way down inside the valve covers. They are accessed through those thin tubes in the valve covers. Well, it seems my seals/gaskets have given up & oil is filling up those little tubes?!?
Sux for me... now my car will be out of commision til tuesday.

anyone else have or seen this problem?

Photos are helpful. Do you think this will be a warranty fix?

Couldn't it be comming out from behind the plugs? Sounds like the right TQ wasn't used and the crush washers didn't seal. Should be able to tighten them up to correct specs and solve it. Unless the washers were not used. Make sure you tighten them down to the proper TQ specs next time.

Yes. Common problem with the VQ. With forced induction it's even more apparent (due to the positive crank case pressure). I've had to replace my gasket and i'm only at 30k miles.

$hit I think I need to look into this more. Seems my drivers side leaks a little out every once in a while, but not enough to burn oil over 3000 miles. How hard is it to do? I guess it would be pretty easy, little more involved than changing plugs....

I have the same issue now. I got TT greddy kit 2 weeks ago and just noticed it. Appearantly its from before. Gasket will be replaced on Monday after dyno-tune. It is covered under warranty!

I've got a Honda Accord that does the same thing, so Nissan isn't alone in this. Anywhere you have the plugs coming through the valve cover it's eventually going to happen.

ya it is a spring assisted seal that seals against the tubes for the spark plugs. you would just have to pull the valve covers off to replace them.
