Is it really worth the swap and what terms do you guys consider fair in a sponsor.

no
I finally talked to the guy the sponsor sounds good until the point were he says the contract is for the life of the car. What he means by this as long as im the owner of the car i have a contract with them. In my head i was hell no.
But here is the good part.
Whatever amount of money i put into the car the y put that same amount.
I would have gotten the contract if it would have been a 1year contract but not a cars lifetime contract.
What do you guys think.

I don't like the idea of owing anyone anything when it comes to my car. I wouldn't want to get calls getting hounded to do this or that or fighting with a shop that I like or splashing their logo everywhere etc. It's a job. You're supposed to do stuff to promote the shop. It might be fun and it's not a bad deal if it works out for both sides.
In my mind, doing all that stuff takes time and effort. I'd rather just make that amount of money doing whatever else on my own time and not have to deal with the shop wanting their logo all over my car etc - I'm talking just in general, not specificaly to this deal

yeah that just gets hard to figure out what's fair - i mean the shop doesn't want to own you for just one year where you can say hey I want to dump $30k into my car, so match that. Then after a year you're gone. They want to know you're not going to leave if they're susceptible to paying big bucks on your car
I'd say to sign it in some sort of finite yearly or bi-yearly increments with the agreement that you will not be asking the shop to spend over X amount of $ on your car during that time. So there's a limit on you and the shop

Man not to be a d!ck, but how can you expect to do good for your sponsor when you've only ran your car a few times @ the track? And your not running great times. You sound like a nice enough guy but judging from your posts your young, and not very experienced. And that combo along with getting into any contract is not a good idea. Id say skip this deal, keep modding, keep learning and get your name out there on your own first. Then in the future when hopefully you are running awesome times, somebody will notice you
BTW regarding the fast s/c's--> Procharged 360 whp bone stock auto tranny, 1.9 60ft, 12.3 @ 113mph.

Ben's Z was a freak. And I've personally heard him own up to that. I mean yea, it's been done. But I'd doubt it'd be duplicated anytime soon. You gotta use what the average S/C'ed AT does, not what one miracle pass did. Y'know?
Thats all on that.
As far as the sponsorship... Alberto's got a good point. Learn on your own and get known first... all on your own. It'll give you better bargaining leverage as well as good knowledge.
