Cosworth 350Z
Hi,
Apparently Cosworth is working on a crate engine for the 350Z. They already have ported heads and some other stuff available...

The heads are supposed to have reshaped combustion chamber and ports. They are supposed to flow up to 22% more on the intake and up to 41% more on the exhaust. Plus they come with an upgraded valve train to support some radical cams. In my opinion not a bad price if they flow as well as they say they do.

Cosworth are some great ***** at what they do(Build F1 motors don't they?)
But i'd rather build and take my own heads to my local machine shop which charge less and do excellent work as well.

These are new heads, that why the price is so expensive. The heads will be fully built minus the cams. To me, this is not a bad price at all. If you want to recovery some of your money, just sell your stock ones.

I got the prices from the link above (there is a downloadable PDF)... http://www.cosworth.com/download.php...be3eaba384d2ff
Heads VQ35 (3.5L) $4,289.00
Forged Pistons VQ35 (3.5L) $1,299.00
Forged Rods VQ35 (3.5L) $1,494.00
Cams VQ35 (3.5L) TBA
I have no doubts that they are worth every penny

Ah, but you forgot the block, assembly, and everything else. I thought you meant that the crate motor was $8000'ish, which is just not possible.
