Here is what Titan charges for their heads. A new head adds $1K to all those prices listed. http://www.titanmotorsports.com/builenparpac.htmlThe Subie engines are difficult to built so we may see similiar pricing for the VQ. The boxer motor requires ALOT of dissasembly and you have to split the case. PITA if you ask me.
Cosworth Engineering in England does built F1 motors as well as many other motors. If you guys have a chance try to find "Super Speedway". Its a DVD that follows the development of a CART (i think) car for Newman/Haas racing. The engine is built by Cosworth and the chassis is built by Lola. Its a VERY cool movie for gear heads and sounds really good in surround sound.
ya see, i cant get that link so never saw the pictures. I guess $10k is somewhat a good deal considering how much a stock motor is from nissan but its not exactly in my price range.
So, for $10K how much hp would you expect? Is it reliable for street use also or intended for racing?
I suppose if you take out a low mileage stock motor you could get a lot for it on ebay. One with 27K miles on just sold for $2447 with a transmission.
So that makes it about a $7500 mod. Same range as a twin turbo.
Would it be worth it?
