Default Engine cooling problem????`

Just wondering what you guys might think this is? My car runs awesome now but for some reason after like driving it really hard, itll start to overheat. Like i can actually see the gauge go from the normal temp all the way to hot. Then when i go to burp the system its all air. What is causing the system to get air in it everytime I run the car hard? If i drive normal it NEVER happens.

What mods do you have? It could be a cooling issue.

welcome to the repeated abuse overheating club. I have a PE radiator, greddy breather tank, and nismo low temp thermostat and I experience this as well. Is your overflow tank boiling over?

some are speculating that it is head lift. how many psi are you boosting?

check out this thread.

I'm having the over heating and boiling over problem after driving hard also, I have a fully built engine using the GReddy breathere tank, APS oil pan and engine oil cooler. Running 1.3bar. I was told it's from running the oem bumper which isn't allowing adequate air flow to the radiator. You think a different bumper will fix this or is this something more?

I have everything you have plus a Top Secret front bumper with a big hole in the middle. Look at my avatar.

I am still overheating. Either our cooling system is not adequate for our set up or we have headlift. I was overheating ocassionally and this last week it was getting worse. Today I checked the water and it was low. After filling it up the car doesn't overheat on low boost 5.5psi.....haven't tried 10psi yet. The missing waster/coolant probably spewed out of my overflow tank. Try toping off your cooling system and see if it gets better. For now I am staying out of high boost (16psi) and will no longer still at WOT for more than 15 seconds.

Right I do top it off and I'm good to go, I'm running about 18psi and haven't tried going lower as this happens. I pray to god it's not headlift? The engine still runs if you have headlift?

if it is headlift the more you beat on the car at high boost the more damage you will do to the head gaskit. Eventually you will tear it apart. If you turn down the boost you should be ok. Stay below 11psi. I am going to use low boost until everyone else figures this chit out. hopefully we don't have to tear the motor out to fix this issue.

We have to bleed the cooling systems here 5 or 6 times sometimes to get the air pockets out of the system. I would recommend that as the first thing to do.
