I've been looking for a fine mesh wire cloth, the material used to make fuel filters, etc. The problem so far is that I can't find anyplace local selling some of it. I may just spring for the Greddy or something similar.
if you take it apart you will notice that the chamber is seperate, the vapor has to flow downward into the bowl before it can escape the chamber on the other side.

True, they are separated but the separation is not that great. The vapors need a chance to cools some so the oil condenses out or they need to impinge on some surface like a screen to build up there.

Default wired mesh

I used this screen tube as a baffle and worked great. Just cut the bottom rounded part off. I also left the white plastic filter in but completely cut the bottom off to create a tube to force air to circulate before going to the PCV. The metallic screen inserts into the cut white filter.

I initially used cleared tubing and found no discoloration after the catch can with the screen but found the incoming tube tinged with oil. By the way, if you are looking for tubing that won't collapse and can withstand the heat, Pep boys sells specific PCV tubing (use the 8.7mm diameter).

Where did you get the screen tube from?

From home depot, in the same section as the air filter.

It must be something local to that store or it was out-of-place and we just don't know where to look. Davewo, you got a make, part number, UPC code, or anything else that identifies it?
