I had similar number when I ran dynos on my Z... 4th gear mid to high 220's for HP and slightly less on torque.

I was worried that this was low, but it seems to be average when using SAE numbers.

How much mileage do you have? I dynoed mine with mileage just below 4000 and think I may have taken it too soon.

A few factors though.. I did not use a fan in front of the car for airflow, and my heat/fan was on in the car (on low) during the test (forgot)... so that could amount to some HP loss.

Auto or manual? Why not test in 5th, the 1:1 gear if MT?

Manual. I dunno why I didn't do fifth.. but i figure if I just stay consistent with the gear that i dyno in, I'll at least be able to tell us how much power my coming mods add. I'll be dynoing the earthing kit shortly.. followed by aem cai.

even if you had a fan blowing.. those dyno #s are kinda low.
also, if you want consistant numbers, you just cant do two runs, each run in a different gear. thats not good enough data to come to a conclusion on correct hp rating... three at least in the same gear would give a decent data sample...

5th gear puts the car at 140+mph I believe. not something I personally want to do, dont trust the straps. the possible benifits are only bragging rights on the internet(assuming 1 or 2 hp makes the difference), 3rd or 4th is fine for getting consistent numbers, and consistancy is all that matters.

FWIW - I put 246.98 to the ground on Saturday in fifth gear at 11,700 miles and a temp of 71.01 degrees.

If you are not in 5th, you are wasting your time. You need a 1:1 gear to accurately measure the HP. Also, in regards to the straps, they are supper strong, and they aren't going to break.

Default Dyno Video

VandyZ & Dougrace ran several dyno runs today.

Vandy ran a baseline. Doug was testing mods. No number info in the video, but still damn fun to watch.
