not really a mod...but an experiment


so .....me and my buddy were bored yesterday and we decided to put the Z up on ramps and see if theres anything we can do. you know, kinda in the experimentation mode. so we Put the Z up.

Recently i had removed the Resonator and replaced it with a 2.5 FLANGED straight pipe.

So we took that out and left it off......In other words, it was running nothing after the Y pipe.........

MAN....when i started that thing up....wow.......it gnarled and gargled like it was a detroit muscle car

it was so loud ....neighbors complained.....well thats probably because i was going up and down the street like a mad man

so then after 20 minutes......it happend......i got pulled over:

as sooon as the cop pulled me over, i shut off the car and rolled down the windows ( illegal exhaust crap/ tint= illegal in chicago)

he bitched and moaned for twenty minutes and finally let me go
i went back to my buddys place and put it back on
when i left 30 minutes later

the cop was still waiting for mebut lucky for me he didnt bother again

but aside from that.....the Z sounded like a BEASSST...but it seemedlike there was a lack of power, either because of back pressure or because it was so loud i couldnt pay attention to the power....it just seemed slower.

But its a silly experiment everyone should try.

 

Is there any way you can do a before and after dyno?

I have heard that some have expreenced no gians from removing the exaust or any part of it... now don't think they cut the system there but they did try like from the headders, cats, y pype, muffler.... etc.. I DOn't know their name off the top of my head right now (it will come to me eventually)
