Our Z died on us today! (at only 4K miles!)

I don't know if I would go so far as to call the guys incompetent, maybe they couldn't see the forest for the trees! It was quite an inconveinence, but these guys were nothing but nice to us. I wouldn't hesitate to use this dealer again if I have another problem. It sounded like it was out of gas in the beginning but since the gauge was still showing 1/4 tank I assumed the problem was somewhere in the path of delivery. It just blew my mind that this new car has a problem like this. I will be glad to get it resolved so we can get back to some worry free driving.

It amazes me how people give advice when they have no clue what they are talking about. The engine runs off of the power produced by the alternator NOT the battery.
A common practice is to disconnect the battery to see if there is a prob. with the alternator. If the car dies than you know that the alternator is shot.
To the OP. I'm glad that it wasn't anything major. Nissans are known to have bad sending units.

mine, would never get full, and then go empty, then up to 1/4 then empty then 1/4 then empty then I had to refill, but I still would only get 16 gallons in!
