Default Hit the Dyno w/ my 06' Revup...

Previous RevUp vs Non-RevUp Z threads enticed me to go get my bone stock 06' Z dynoed today. The shop(Carboy-Hou,TX) just so happened to have a few non-revup Zs and dyno records on hand for comparison as they were interested in the differences too... (before you all start screaming for the dyno slip, which I have in hand... its saturday... let me get into the office on Monday and I'll scan it)
But anyhoo... I hit 250.2whp & 228.4 lb/ft torque. I was hoping for a lil more but apparently 250whp is good for bone stock, frm what i hear.... I was able to review previous records of some 03-04 models from other customers and they were dynoing between 221~248whp. (221 one was an 03 stock and the 248 was an 03 w/ HKS exhaust, Intake, TS reflash, SAFC).... Comparisons only for Zs that visited this dynojet, so just as FYI for anyone interested in reading... I've seen a few non-revups do very well previously elsewhere too, so no feud here pls, lol... A/F ratios starting at 14.5/7 at idle and hovering in the 13a/fs up until around 5500rpm. Then things started to richen up a bit to 12.3... Seems plenty fine to me, but we seem to think leaning it out the top end to at least a 13a/f from 5500~7000 should net even more pwr. Common thinking would say to get an exhaust and it may correct the above to where i want it... we'll see... My plans are to obtain a piggy back fuel computer and see where we can get it bone stock. Again, dyno sheet will be scanned on monday when i get back to the office... Next on agenda will be a visit to the dragstrip to see what it can do. I'm seeing the best on this site running mid to high 13s (which sounds great to me...) Curious as to how much these guys dynoed at stock too... Anyways tks for droppin in... looking forward to some informative replies if any. Laters...

don't worry that much. It could be the ambient temperature, the different dynos, different correction factors, different conditions, etc etc. A dyno doesn't mean much besides giving you an idea how much a mod has helped. What really helps is how you drive. Take it to the dragstrip and find out as you said. Good luck.

Congrats on getting a baseline dyno!!! I think this is the best thing to do to see your gains. I like the numbers too. I have an '03 Touring that baseline at 232whp & 226wtq. With my PopCharger, 5/16th Spacer & ISO Gasket, Underdrive Crank Pulley, & 2.5" testpipes; I dynoed at 249whp & 236wtq. With knowing you got 250 & 228 on a stock '06 it would be a good run at the drag strip. Best of luck with your ride!!!

man my engine really does suck cuz i dynoed 256hp and 239tq on a 03 motor with i/e/tp/spacer/mrev2/unichip.

It was 79degrees when i was getting it tuned. Can also the width of the tire make my numbers run a little low? Im running 275 in the back.

sorry guys... missed work today.. I'll try to scan the dyno sheet tomorrow when i go in to the office... Thx for the replies, i was hoping to get feedback for comparison and you have all been great. To answer the questions above...I'm in Houston,TX so its pretty hot. The temp on my guage pod(in the Z) was showing 97deg F.... not sure how accurate our guages are...
If its any consolation...my first run was 246ish... but the guy said the car wasnt sitting right as he said it was jerking around too much... we realigned the car on the dyno and thats when i pulled the 250.2whp. The 3rd pull was identical, odd as that might seem. Oh, and its an in-ground DynoJet.
And yes I agree... dynos mainly for comparison reasons when modding. Thts why i did a baseline before i started to buy mods. I have to say really like those higher torque numbers some of you guys are getting. I'll have to try that spacer thing...

wow, i saw your signature reads low 12's on a 100shot... NICE!
Can I ask what you were running when you dynoed the above? I'll be heading to the track soon... but just curious. I'm aware your torque numbers are higher and may make a difference...

With Nismo CAI, Borla Headers and exhaust, Crawford high-flow cats and plenum, and Unichip ECU I was able to get 278.2 whp and 273 ft-lbs. tq at Scott Performance in Santa Clara, California. I forgot what kind of dyno it was though. 250 whp is a good number for a stock Z.

I was hitting 221 whp with everything stock on a Dynojet last year, and 243 whp with exhaust, headers and intake.

Ok, sorry for the delay... i found a place to host the image... hope this works! Oh, and to answer the question above... the runs were in 5th gear.
There is a bunch of jumbled whp figures around the 6k rpm mark... this is because the tuner had selected this area (there is a line) to show me where the a/f started to richen up to 12... Now i kinda wish we took that away before printing! Anyways, The peak#s are showing at top...and i hope u guys can make out the graph since its so thin and faint. Great feed back guys.

Nice! those are some serious gains for bolt ons! Extremely impressed due to the gains from 221 ~ to 278... especially not going into the motor. "if" i could have the same ratio of improvement that would be insane for just bolt ons... Anyways, great numbers.

--> Btw, some friends and I have decided to head to Houston Raceway Park this friday to hit the 1/4 mi track. Any locals heading to the track? Im thinking about bringing my old *** 90' mustang GT also for kicks...!

Holy huge dyno sheet. I think the best gains are noticed once a tune of some sort is added. Bolt-ons do work and respond well, but it seems like the people making over or around 260whp have some sort of tuning! Good luck with your car. Nice baseline!

Scott Performance uses a dastek dyno and is notorious for inflated numbers.

Yup, we gave up adding any type of artificial correction with our load based Dyno Dynamics dyno. On our dyno, a revup G35 put down 232whp after retuning with a UTEC. Probably 250whp + easily on a dynojet.

Bone stock Z's put down about 210-215whp on our dyno.
