Default Interesting Twist on bad tranny issue...

I went to the dealer to have them look into my tranny dying on me, and they were great!! Didn't even test drive. Had one in stock (hopefully a 009) and am putting in as we speak! He did however tell me that since it is the first time it has been replaced under warranty, they will, and are supposed to replace the clutch too!! So just to let you all know, if you bring it in for the tranny, make sure they replace your clutch, if not call Nissan USA. He showed me in the on the screen where it said to do so! Also, if anyone is within a practical distance to Virginia Beach, VA and have warranty issues not resolved elsewhere, i Highly reccomed Bob Kostka @ Hall Nissan Virginia Beach!!! I was out in an hour with a free rental in hand!! New tranny, clutch, and they are fixing the rear end clicking, although not technically under warranty!! AND they are giving me an additional 5 years and 50,000 miles warranty, on top of the factory!! Best experience ever!!!

Yeah my whole life i was the guy that came in for a rattle, and left spending $400 on a new dash or some crap like that! Was nice to be taken so well care of, when they really only had to just fix the things under warranty with no rental etc.

hmm....i wonder if my dealership did the same thing!?

I just got mine back a lil while ago w/ a new tranny...i'm hoping 009 as well...but i knew when i got it back that the clutch felt TOTALLY different. Now...they didn't say anything about replacing it..but that would explain it. I have to take it back in though...somehow, the deal where you have to push down to go into reverse...the blocking mechanism was not properly re-installed...and also...feels like the driveshaft may not be on properly...if i have the motor revved high(above 4k) and get off the gas...i get a really bad shimmy on the shifter...didn't do that before...

Thanks to you, I am calling them today to see if they can fix my tranny too. I am well within the 5yr/60,000 mile powertrain warranty and my 03 6MT sounds like a damn cement truck too!!! and shes bone stock!

I'm assuming "Y-town" is York town. If you go to Hall Nissan in Va Beach Talk to Bernard in the service department and tell him you want Cliff to take it for a test drive. Cliff is the lead mechanic that works for Bernard's team. He just came out and looked at the car, asked what year, and didn't even drive it! Had a new tranny and clutch in less then 24 hours later! They'll give ya a loner too. Good luck and lemme know how it goes!
