Default Advancing the timing

I was reading a post in one of the forums about advancing the timing. I heard the dealership will advance the timing +2 degrees if you ask them. Any word? Any dynos?

Ive heard this too, but I have also read where the car was already advanced enough that it made more power with 94 octane gas than 91, meaning that even at stock timing the car is getting the most power it can from 91 octane, any more timing on standard premium gas would just make the computer retard timing

I talk w the technichan at the dealer, he toll me that is posible that the car came -1 (Like the Altima) and advanced 3 to get 2 in the timer. but the Scaner is on order and don't arrive yet, but as soon arrive to the dealer he's gonna call me to see in what Time is the car.

I had this done to my altima and I'm having it retarded back today. The reason is I have been the the track many times and don't think it really did anything to my times.

Well I guess I will see cause I will be at the track either tommorrow or saturday......

AndyZ: if you don't mind spending little more on gas and want more hp, do it. It won't hurt the car, it's just couple of points up.

Ewood: nice black altima.. how's it run?

I always run 93 octane. I sometimes find 94 octane. I guess I will have the dealer hook up Consult II and up it a couple and see what happens. I can always adjust it back.

(oh and its VandyZ . . .a.k.a. Adam)
