But that was also sleeved. I get your point though. He was saying Aluminum VS steel. When you sleeve you can take block material right out of the equation with high HP cars. Heat transfer starts playing a factor at those levels.. but that is a whole other argument.

GE= 600whp
VQ= 500whp
Yeah, you're right. I can see who really comes out victorious.

we already know the VQ puts the 2JZ to shame when it comes to TQ

Can't we agree both motors are great and end it?

I have seen a couple stock bottom ends on numerous amount of supras that push 600+ and even one with 800 whp. Those blocks can just sustain more than a VQ stock to stock. The VQ may be more efficient at producing torque and airflow but the bottom end is just weaker. I would love to build my VQ but like you guys were saying its a newer technology and they are just tapping the potential of what that engine can do and all of that makes a higher price tag. Its not the price tag that scares me, its the fact that my motor has nearly 60k on it. I can justify dropping in 30k+ mileage motor thats pretty well built and hell its something different and cross bred, i will be the only one pretty much besides Top Secret.
I go in tomorrow to see how this will be handled wish me luck

don't worry.. i had the same discussion with the guy who ditched the VQ for an RB... if others idn't venture out and pioneer the VQ to see its limits and what it needs.. we would all have swap 350z's

The owner himself made one with 1128 whp with no nitrous. From what i understand you can make them somewhere around 6-700whp without putting more than 10g's in it and you will have that has a daily driver.
screw all ya'll....the qg18 is the best motor out...period! that thing is great...slap on like 6 turbos and your boosting around 145psi with like 200 hp to the wheels!!! biatches!!!

i have no idea who it was but i was driving to austin from san antonio one night and i was cruising at about 80 when a supra flew past me....by the time i was at 100 he was probably at least a half mile away....i questioned it on TRS the next day and it came up it was a guy with a black one with stock body...somewhere around 1k hp. he has a small scoop on the hood. thats about the only thing that sets it apart. and hes from austin
Stock for Stock Supra's have the advanatge but wasnt the original price of the Supra 40K? Thats 10K more than a Z. If that being true then the Z will be just a tad bit more expensive to get simular power levels, a few thousand maybe( at this time). I have no doubt tho that in a couple years when all the Reseach and development for most go fast parts have been done we may see a price drop on some parts. The bottom end of a built Z motor(sleeved) have the strength to go 1K+ WHP, we just have air intake issues to deal with as mentioned by the performace shops here. It's hard to be patient (refering to myself) but even tho technology is better than it was when the Supra's came out it still takes time to develop the parts we need in the space provided in our engine bays to make big power.
In a few years you can prob get a Z for 15K or less, dump 20-30K and have a 1K WHP beast...awesome huh.

if i had money i would give up the vq for a 2jz anytime. the non turbo motors can hold same as our vq35 can so theres no question that a stock 2jzget is way more superior. i would even give up the vq for the 2jzge theres allot more potential and knowledje.
