Put diesel fuel injector cleaner in 350
Well first off I'll say I didn't do this.
My GF also has a 350z, hers is an 05. Her dad decided to put some fuel injector cleaner in it, but accidently put Diesel fuel injector cleaner by gumout. Does anyone know exactly what this might cause. I called Gumout and spoke with an engineer there. He said it should all burn out ok. He advised me to fill the car up with either Shell or Chevron premium fuel, and try to run that full tank down as low as I can. He said then fill it back up and use a regular bottle of the gumout on it. I didn't think he car would need a fuel treatment anyway, it's only got 8,000 miles on it. They said that theirs is supposed to not allow the diesel to gel up, because diesel has parafin in it. So hopefully it won't clog the injectors or anything. Any ideas of what these cleaners are made of?
Thanks

The car might run a bit strange, but it should be fine. Just drive it easy, run the tank down pretty low before refueling, and then use a good quality Top-Tier gas (like Shell or Chevron) to refuel.

A good Diesel Additive will generally have a lube that prolongs Injector Pump life. Doubt if she will have a prob so long as she runs a good tank of Hi Octane through it and it wouldnt hurt to pour in a bottle of good injector cleaner. If it survives the ordeal, It may be an asset

Yeah that's what the Gumout engineer was saying. Just use a top tier fuel, and run it down till almost empty, then put a good aditive in it. Hopefully nothing bad happens, I'll keep you guys updated.
Thanks

the Z does not need injector cleaner.....ESPECIALLY a 2005. Nissan injectors don't like cleaners like that. I can't figure out why people think injector cleaners are that good to use, or even why one is needed on a car less than 2 years old!

Use BG 44k to devarnish the fuel system.
Unfortunately US fuels use just the minimal level of deposit deteregents to control costs...........premium fuel injector cleaners [Techron and BG 44k] contain 3 to 10 times the amount found in 20 gallons of the best gasoline.
