The Cusco is really grabby at 100% and pretty good at 60% lock (we have installed them both ways) Still grabs more than the ATS Carbon, but its also priced less than the ATS Carbon. Some people have had success using certain fluids or friction modifiers to quite the Cusco.

 

Sharif is pretty grabby too

 

I work better with a friction modifier.

 

Is there a DIY for diff swaps? I did a quick search and didn't see much. It looks simple enough, I just want to make sure that there's no hidden aligning that needs to be done.

 

Anybody out there using or know anything about the KAAZ LSD? I haven't really heard much about it.

 

yep we've sold a ton of Cusco's and I've used it in my own car now for just under 2 years - my diff is very quiet and works seamlessly. Very smooth operator, nice and quiet, behaves nicely at low speed while turning (which is what seperates if from other diffs like the NISMO).

KAAZ is another option - very good and durable units, biggest downfall is its got no springs on the hub section so it's not the smoothest working diff for a car that sees street duty
