Default Engine swap

I know this sounds ridiculous but where can i find myself a skyline gtr engine? I wanna drop it into a 350z's engine bay. Gonna be a lot of custom work though...

I'm sorry, but this has to be said:

If you don't know where to locate the motor (the easiest part) you don't really have any business swapping it in the Z.

use the search button on this site and you might find out some info but foreal man you gotta do some real research as it is not easy but pretty soon there won't be too much custom work. The other thing is you didn't list the engine's name(RB26DETT) but what car it came out of. You do know that you can't use a GTR(RB26) tranny right? You have to use the RB25 tranny because it is RWD. Or are you going to have custom work done to allow the Z to use ATTESSA(all wheel drive system for the GTRs)? Just seems to me that you read about the RB's potential or someone told you that you should do it and you haven't really looked into what all is involved.

Dude I can count on one hand the # of known RB swaps. There is one from TS, one from JDM Option(guy crashed it in the Arizona desert, I think), someone in FL, and a G that is done by JE Import Performance(who is making a kit to allow people to swap in the RB with much more ease). Even if you do buy the kit, as I plan to, it is still expensive and unless you plan to go over 600whp, not the most cost effective way to go about making power. This swap is also labor intensive and you have to add in the amount of tuning/dyno time to get the set-up to work properly, as well as a stand alone EMS.

I myself am very intrested in doing an RB26DETT swap myself, I always had the idea floating around my head since 03 when I got my Z, but back then there was barely any info on the project.

I now started to research the idea and what exactly are my goals....
600+WHP...goal searching done....

However I'm lucky enough to know someone here in Orlando, FL that is doing an RB swap thus far I'm able to ask plenty of ??

But Yes there is plenty to consider and research before starting

Would be nice if JE produced a kit including the motor, EMS...etc

the guys there are a bunch of liars. I called them when i was purchasing an RB26 for my 240 and spoke to one guy who told me they had it in stock, a R33RB and a rb25 transmission, I called the next day ready to buy it and another guy tell me it will take awhile for them to get it in stock and how they havent had one in awhile. alot of those shops seem sketchy to me only buy it from them if you see it first.

good luck with the swap

Finding the motor really isn't the easiest task...well finding one isn't hard...but finding one that you are actually confident is in good condition is hard (and expensive). I have been looking around the past week at many different places and like I said its a tough task.

The easiest task is removing the old motor...then it will get fun, lol
