on topic, i have been ion many VQ35's and can't see how just a spacer would effect the windage tray at all. but i could be wrong. i installed one for a guy and there was no problems at all with room or flipping the tray around.
off topic, the oil squirters are designed to cool the piston head (and help stop heat spots), oil the pin, and help abit with oiling the cylinder. all motors will oil the rods through the main journals with an angled port in the crank. the oil then coming out from the rods is what the windage tray is trying to control. drain back is done at the very ends of the block, usually never over the rotating assembly.

So are you saying that a scraper could have some benefits?

dude. the windage tray is more than enough. Especially since it's stock.

Kill the big things first. Trust me. The small things like a scraper=waste at this point.

I am not looking to do this by any means. I was just simply asking a question. I am not coming from a "I'd like 10whp please" stand point. Im just asking a tech question on something that I do not know much about and that as mentioned before may apply to one engine while it may not apply to another.

I hope that you understand where I am coming from now.

Wasnt trying to be a smart azz--sorry. But, I could see no reason for a scraper on the Z motor considering its superiority over the older Detroit Iron that used the scrappers.

What are you regarding as a surprise? The possibility for improvement or lack of possibility?
