Default more power!

I don't know why people say great torque curve? The 350Z HAS NO TORQUE! So, that is why some of us are awaiting a Turbo Kit. Oh and turbo lag is ALMOST non exsistent. I would be happy getting around 350 ftlbs of torque at 2,500 RPM's, wouldn't you????

they come by getting a post rated(something this thread should be rated negative on) and other things that Im not sure about, Im guessing, posting a thread, and the amount of views/replies.

and yes, this has got to be one of the worst posts Ive ever seen.

good luck with 350ft/lbs at 2500RPMs, I dont know if nascar or indy can boast that. oh and torque "curve" is best represented by a flat line, peaky torque is only found in 4cyl like S2000, RSX, Celica, ect, and all are criticized for their lack of ***** down low.

but hey if you think a turbo will give you 350ftlbs(a 150ftlbs increase) at 2500RPMs, pass the **** man, cause I want some. lag on a turbo of that size would DEFINITLY hold you down till 3000RPMs, and even then youd be LUCKY to get 300ftlbs on a LARGE turbo.

My turbocharged Syclone has 360 ft lbs of torque at 2800 RPM. Close enough?

Syclones and Typhoons are not 8 cylinders. They have 6.

My Buick makes 530 lbs. ft. @ 2400 rpm - gotta love having a 7.4L V8! I wish the Z could make that kind of torque, having that much power down low makes the car a great driver. I don't think any 3.5L motor will make that kind of torque w/ out nitrous, and even then I think you'd be pushing it.

Um, I love the response to my post. It shows that you all must have come from 4 cylinder motors. Congrats on moving up!

The 350Z really does not have great torque down low. Even alot of guys on this forum will admit to that. It is SOME WHAT of a S2000 type of feel. OR a VTEC type of feel.I have a 2000 Audi S4 2.7Liter V6 Twin Turbo pushing roughly 330Hp and 390ft. lbs of torque at just 2,400RPM's. That is a fact and by the way there are more and more S4 guys selling there rockets and purchasing Z's, I'm included. We need some more reliability!

I love the Z and think that your responses were extremely funny and entertaining. I didn't mean anything bad by saying that the Z has NO TORQUE, that is just the truth and if you can't admit it then thats fine. I understand I am driving a torque monster right now but I've owned an S2000, driven lots of Type R's and other high HP. low torque Jap. cars. I have had a blast with them all and think they are great open track cars but if your into autocrossing I think you would need some more punch down low.

Again, these are just my opinions and quit honestly fairly truthful thoughts that I loved sharing with you all.

Happy Motoring!

maybe we just need to clear things up cause your post only raised more questions.

the S4 is 250hp and 258ftlbs of torque. so your S4 is FAR FAR FAR away from stock.

then we come to exhibit B, this is a dyno from a member of club si on his fully modified supra

as you can see he does not hit 350ftlbs till 4700rpms, I guess he needs more power?

and lastly the S2000, rsx, celica all have in the realm of 130-155ft lbs of torque, typicly at an rpm above 7000... now the Z has 267(make note that even NA that is more than the TT S4) at 4800RPMs. nearly twice that of all the 4bangers, and much much lower RPMs. Whats more, the Z has over 200ftlbs at 2000RPMs, leaving it STILL 50ft lbs more torque than the 4bangers even near idle!

so are there any more majorly flawed analogies you want to go for? Id love to see a picture of your S4, and/or S2000 too, a dyno to show that 330/390 would be great.

s2k=179lbs tq to the fly
350z=278lbs tq to the fly

yeah that's almost equal. sounds about right to me.

Default I have a .....

1200+ horse Viper
500+ horse 350Z
400+ horse S4
I've also driven many of the top exotics from European, Asian, and American markets.

But that is all on GT3.

Just wanted to add something to this post. Not buying the stock S4 producing the numbers claimed.

Default Pictures of my 330hp 390ft S4

Your right, the S4 stock is a pig! Yes, I have added downpipes, exhaust, and new chip etc.. but if you spend $400 and JUST change the chip on an S4 you get 310Hp. and around 360ftlbs of torque at a LOOOOW 2,000+ RPMs! I don't need to post DYNO pics. just go to Audiworld.com and you will get it all.

Not mentioning any names but theres a 350 guy on this forum who got rid of his S4 and knows exactly what I'm talking about.
Hell, he misses the torque so much that he's pushing a 75 shot of Nitrious on his new 350 while awaiting any great turbo system that will be offered.

I'm really not trying to sound like a dick but when I step on the gas in the Z I have to wait till those revs hit some high notes to feel a nice pull. And hey, thats my opinion of what torque feels like by my *** dyno. Heck I almost purchased a Mini S because I thought it was a blast to drive.

Guys, I love the Z and I like this forum so lets argue respectively.
Heres the pics you requested. The S2000 I got rid of quickly because my 6ft 220lb Linebacker *** was too big for it.
LAter everyone!
