Default custom pulley setup!!

one of the ilder pulleys bearings was making noise, and of course nissan didn't want to cover it under the 60k "we don't hear anything" sooo, i took off the top idler pully and the tensioner pulley, made a nice custom tensioning method and threw on a shorter belt.

overall, no more noise, and definetly has a little better throttle response!

no actually i made both the alternator and the power steering pulley swing out for maxium adjustablity, its been three days now and been run perfect, knock on wood. ps i tryed doing just the alternator for the tensioning method but wasn't nearly enoghf, so its best with both. i'll put more pics up later

Yeah, you should really do a write-up on this.

Although...if you have a bearing problem, you really shouldn't add more tension to it, you should just replace it. The more tension you put on it, the faster it is going to wear.

Cool

ok, for anyone thats interested, heres how i did it, be prepared while it was a little noticable, it does take a 1/2 to 3 hours depending on ur skill. If i could do it over again it would be quick but since i was fabricating and figuring out what worked it took a lot longer then expected including 4 diff belts till i got the right one. which by the way is dayco #5060400, and can be crossed off at most part stores accept autozone because there stupid and told me it didn't exist when three other stores could order it and one had it on the shelf. anyway lol

* losen, and take off belt by using the bolt at the bottom of the belt tensioner.

*loosen and take out all the bolts that i highlighted in the pic below.

*take the belt tensioner and idler pully assembly off

*reinstall the just the bolts by themselfs to plug the holes so that no dirt or debree gets into the timing cover.

*install the custom braket on the power steering pump as showed in the pic below, and same concept on the alternator.

*put the belt on and tighten them up nice and tight or it may sqeel, did with me on the 5060405 belt, but not at all on the 5060400 belt but that second belt is a wicked pain it the a$$ to get on, fair warning ; )

happy 350'ing
