Default Painting piping black?

Looking at getting my intercooler piping powder coated black. Would this be bad and make it absorb lots of heat?

only thing I'd ever do to any piping would be heat wrap. They get extremely hot and I'd assume the coat will get warped in time.

Dont waste your money on powder coating...just find black "radiator paint." Its made to withstand heat, its what I used on the intercooler itself...

So an intercooler is gonna get hot enough to warp high temp paint or powder coating?? I'd say that's not a very effective intercooler! lol. Maybe you thought he ment exhaust piping?

My employeer has equipment for powder coating as they offer it as a service for their customers so cost is not an issue. I am going to try getting a black chrome paint or smoke. I can fit the intercooler in the oven but I have to check with bell and see if there will be any adverse effects to heating the core up to 400 degrees in order to paint the end tanks (not the core it self)

Dont powder coat the intercooler, it will make it less efficient and not be able to get your intake temps down as much.

^ +1 for the stealth look in California.

I built a turbo kit for my last car and powder coated all my piping. It looked really great and held up just fine.

Do you need to powder coat? What about using a high-temp paint? Any adverse effects of using high-temp? Is powder coating that much better?

I know, newb questions... LOL.

I still have chicken wire grill and you can't see the piping.
