Default My NA Project

This is a pic of my motor yesterday when I went by the shop to see the progress on my motor. I finally see light at the end of the tunnel. I had Cosworth heads, 272 cams, eagle rods and wiseco pistons. Just a few more weeks then a will need a tune and see the results.

I am running wiseco pistons but my compression ended up at 10.7. As far as bolton I have Nismo headers, MD 5/16 spacer (I am going to purchase the Cosworth manifold when released), Jun lightweight flywheel, test pipes, and Nismo exhaust. Not sure what I am going to do as far as tuning yet. Here is the only other pic I have when the motor first came out. I should have stopped by the shop more often for pictures but I didn't want to see the car like that until it was close to being complete. I didn't want to bring bad luck to the project. As it was I did have to buy rod bolts because one was miss threaded or something when being installed.

I have been on an unlucky streak and I didn't want my car to be part of that streak. LOL

What are you doing for tuning? I am debating using the HKS FCON V-pro but would like something that can also do the VTC angles that doesn't cost a ton of money.

What else do you think I could have done to be more aggressive other than cams?

Motec M600 is 2000$ more than a FCON for plug and play and it can control the cams.

I found some information on VTC angles for maximum torque for 276 duration cams which are similiar to my cams.

@2000 rpm 45 degrees
@3000 rpm 53 degrees
@4000 rpm 50 degrees
@5000 rpm 35 degrees
@6000 rpm 27 degrees

Does anyone know if this information is correct? If the Nismo VTC pullies go to 55 degrees then the stock VTC pullies only go to 40 degrees?

I haven't heard anything new about the Hydra system. If it were out and proven to work I would be going that route for sure. For now if the info on the VTC angles are correct I may just have Technosquare program the VTC angles and then have Sharif tune my Z with the HKS FCON V-pro.
