Default thoughts on JWT clutch/ ACT prolight flywheel.

I'm looking to upgrade and I have driven a car with a JWT clutch with a Nismo flywheel and I was impressed, but it seems that the ACT prolight is lighter than the JWT flywheel and a little bit cheaper.

Anyone else running this set-up or have opinions?

Thanks!

Do a search - seems like most people say go ACT all the way (clutch and flywheel). I would do this if the install wasn't so expensive (my dealer quoted me $840, but I am trying to find a shop that can do it cheaper).

I did and I dont need a heavy duty clutch and I was fine with the cheaper JWT. I wanted to see if anyone had experiances with this particular set-up.

Ok, cool. Good luck. I didn't realize the JWT was signfiicantly cheaper.

Peace

yea but whn u start making alot of power, and u have an EXTREMELY light clutch, u lose traction cuz it revs so fast. same concept as putting 3.9 gears in a tt z. makes 1st gear completely useless.

I have the ACT prolight. it is great, but chatters really bad after driving it hard. I don't mind sounding like a pickup truck at idle though.

I stayed OEM when i switched though, just upgraded to a 06 spec clutch assembly and SS clutch line.

Well, I'm not gonna go FI so I wont be making too much more power.

Would there be any advantage going to the JWT clutch over going with a new OEM one? I know it handles more hp, but I am just running basic bolt-on's.

I do not drag race the car, but I do frequently run track events. I havent had a problem with my current clutch, so maybe I should save some more $$$ and go with a new OEM clutch?

I think you'll find the ACT street disc, Stage 1 pressure plate and Prolite Flywheel combo are cheaper then JWT clutch and ACT flywheel combo. I own a ACT clutch and JWT flywheel and if I could do it again I would have waited and gotten all ACT. I've driven a few different setups now and the all ACT setup is my favorite.
