Default Pre fill Oil Cooler before Install?

Stupid question. Do you need to pre fill the oil cooler and lines with some oil before fitting or do you just add about 300ml to the system etc?

I did a search and found one thread that mentioned to test fill the core and lines to work out additional fluid but did not say if you need to leave the oil in the items

Cheers,
Michael

just fill the car as you normally would...let car warm up, turn car off, check oil level, fill as needed
